The Jacket That Has Your Back

Are you an over packer? You’re in luck. An Aussie-based startup has the answer to all your baggage problems — an “Airport Jacket” that is pretty much a wearable suitcase. The “jacket” comes with 14 (!) pockets, plus two detachable pocket panels that can hold up to 30 pounds. Once removed, the jacket can be quickly transformed into a small carry on bag with handles. You may get some strange looks as you struggle through the terminal, but hey, it’s worth it to avoid those crazy baggage fees.

Live The High Life

Private jets aren’t only for celebrities anymore. JetSmarter, a private jet company, has announced a digital partnership with TCM Jets — so now calling a private jet can be as easy as calling an Uber. TCM Jets will allow you to choose from the Hawker 400XP and 800XP fleet. The hope is that with the mobile app, shared or chartered flight options could become more widespread among those of us who aren’t millionaires or billionaires.

Check That Off Your Bucket List

Dreaming of finally completing that travel bucket list? The new app Timeset allows users to create their own bucket lists and connect with others who have the same goals or have already reached those goals. Leo Riza, the founder of the app, doesn’t just want it to just be about sharing knowledge, and instead focus on connecting different groups, cultures, and communities from around the world. What’s next? Perhaps a new dating app for travelers.

King Google Reigns Again

It’s Google’s world – we just live in it. But at least the company is helping us explore the globe. Google is conquering online travel, beginning a few years ago with Google Flights, an online flight booking service. Then came a smartphone app that helped plan and organize trips and an advertising program called “Google Hotel Ads.” It’s paying off. Google’s digital travel advertising in 2016 earned about $12 billion in revenue and accounted for 90 percent of the digital travel advertising market.
