Reddit is Ready for $$

Today, Reddit has 240 million users – seven times less than Facebook. But Reddit isn’t worried about those smaller numbers. The massively influential social media platform is ready for the big time and will soon debut  new ad offerings called Promoted User Posts, allowing marketers to sponsor user-generated posts on Reddit’s platform. Reddit claims that most of their traffic comes the U.S., and mostly from users on mobile. Need a Reddit primer? Here’s what you need to know about the self-proclaimed “front page of the internet.

InstaKors

Instagram still doesn’t let you add active links to captions. But Michael Kors has a trick up its sleeve in order to combat that. The fashion brand turned its 8.2 million Insta followers into not only customers but also returning customers, re-creating its Instagram feed on a web page. The page paired Kors posts with links to products, making it easy for users to make purchases. Added bonus? This feature also offers perks to many customers who regularly engage with the brand on Instagram. Double-tap for a discount, shoppers!

Say No To Ads

According to an IAB report, 26 percent of desktop users and 15 percent of mobile consumers use blockers to remove ads from publishers' websites. This study was based on two sets of research, which included a lab session involving an eye-tracking study and quantitative studies. During the study, users spend eight minutes looking at ads and were then asked questions about the knowledge of ad blocking. They were also asked to rate the campaigns and answer questions about their knowledge of ad blocking. The majority of these users blamed ads for making websites slower and too data-heavy. Twitter’s Major League Move

Twitter is going all-in on sports. This week, the platform announced plans to begin live-streaming MLB and NHL games. Twitter will also produce a nightly sports show “The Rally.” “Twitter has long been a great partner and platform for both baseball and hockey fans as they follow their favorite teams and players every day,” said Kenny Gersh, MLB Advanced Media’s executive VP of business. While there is no definite launch date, The Verge reported that games will become available on a weekly basis to U.S users and “The Rally” will be shown live every night.
