Snapchat is tracking to earn $366.7 million in advertising sales this year – a 151 percent year-over-year increase. "Snapchat has improved its targeting capabilities and partnered with 11 measurement firms to address the concerns voiced early on," said Cathy Boyle, a principal analyst at eMarketer. "What they have yet to prove is whether they can consistently deliver a better return on investment for advertisers than other social networks."Over the past year, Snapchat has added a number of paid ad formats. And that adds up to a whole lot of Snapcash.
Instagram announced this week that they would begin to slowly remove the map feature from some users. The brains behind the photo app felt as if the feature was not being used enough and plan to focus on other priorities. Many users had speculated that getting rid of the photomap could be a way to crack down on photos revealing locations of high-profile users, but Instagram responded saying that was not the case. Either way, it’s going to be harder now to figure out where Taylor Swift is eating tonight.
