Green Apple

As a way to help the planet and celebrate Earth Day, Apple is going green. The tech giant has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund to raise money through in-app purchases. Twenty-seven apps are participating, including Angry Birds 2 and Cooking Dash 2016. The green Apple action doesn’t stop there – the company is unveiling a new Environment page on its website, sharing facts and informative material about the eco-consciousness. Finally, the leaf in the Apple logo at retail stores will be lit green.

Explore the World (Virtually)

Google Earth is updated and better than ever. You can now explore many parts of the world right from the coziness of your home — maybe not as good as seeing it in person, but definitely a good sneak preview if you are planning a trip. The app now offers guided tours, knowledge cards, as well as Google’s classic “I’m feeling lucky” button for more spontaneous discoveries, and more. Where are you virtually exploring first?

Own A Piece Of The Planet

Love the earth and want to adopt a piece of it? Now you can! NASA launched the “Adopt the Planet” campaign letting anyone virtually adopt a piece of earth as seen from space. Once you adopt your spot, you can learn more about the area with data beamed in from NASA satellites. Last week, there were 64K locations up for adoption – but they’re going fast. Get yours and celebrate Earth Day.

For The Love Of Energy

T-Mobile is exploring the world of sustainability. The company landed a long-term partnership with a renewable energy company that it says will reduce power consumption across its U.S. operations. T-Mobile also partnered with Treecycler to sponsor tree planting in over 30 restoration projects. Current customers will be able to open the T-Mobile Tuesdays app and selecting the project of their choice from the Treecycler website. “For Earth Day 2017, we’re thanking customers with green gifts and making it easy for everyone to do their part for the planet” John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile, said in a statement.
