With gyms shutting down across the country due to COVID-19, the fitness industry went digital in a matter of weeks. TURNER’s Kelsey Comstock takes a look at the not crystal clear but still bright future that lies ahead. And fitness trends in future will definitely include a happy hybrid of virtual and in-person workout offerings. She writes: “The brands who thrive will need to ensure their offerings include a hybrid of in-person and virtual experiences so that their members can maintain their preferred workouts in whichever way feels the safest and most effective.”
Creating Your Own PR Internship
The public relations internship has been a vital resource for thousands of new college grads. Thanks to the COVID-19 crisis, many summer internships are on hold. But, according to TURNER’s Naureen Kazi, there are plenty of ways for future public relations pros can to hone their skills during this time of social distancing. She’s put together five recommended tips that will get you ahead of the pack when searching for that first PR job, including a host of great resources and tools.
Hotels are rapidly adjusting to the new normal – and that includes ramped up cleaning and hygiene procedures. Hilton unveiled a new alliance with Lysol, Hilton Cleanstay with Lysol Protection, which will take advantage of the cleaning-product expertise of RB (which owns Lysol and Dettol products) and the advice of the Mayo Clinic’s Infection Prevention and Control team. Meanwhile, Marriott is planning an array of post-coronavirus measures, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectant to sanitize surfaces. Also, the brand is experimenting with “ultraviolet light technology” that will enhance the cleaning process.

This week (May 3-9) is National Travel & Tourism Week — and the U.S. Travel Association is celebrating the #SpiritofTravel.
