Unique Holiday Celebrations

As the 2012 holiday season quickly approaches, travelers are searching for unique, fun and festive opportunities to celebrate the season in special ways that aren’t just a parade or large Christmas tree. Here are some unique, holiday events in the Western U.S. that travelers are sure to love:
  • Champagne Cascade (November 11, 2012) – The iconic Brown Palace Hotel and Spa (Denver, CO) will host its 25th annual Champagne Cascade, when a master swordsman will use an antique Napoleonic saber to sever the bottle necks of Moet & Chandon Champagne bottles that will be poured into the uppermost glass of the two-story, 6,000-glass pyramid rising nearly two stories in the hotel’s atrium lobby.
  • Luminarias (December 24, 2012) –The annual Old Town Luminaria Tour in Albuquerque is a New Mexican tradition that takes guests through Old Town, a festively ornamented Albuquerque Country Club and other hot spots  around the city. Beautifully lit paper sacks with candles adorn rooftops and walkways during the holiday season for a light display that is not to be missed.
  • Catch the Glow(November 23, 2012) – The annual, family-friendly event  in the mountain village of Estes Park, CO,features live Christmas music, free hayrides, visits with Santa Claus, a dazzling display of holiday lights and a night time parade complete with festive floats.  Additionally, on November 24, guests of the area can enjoy a spectacular, and highly anticipated firework display over Lake Estes.
