Denver is known for having over 300 days of sunshine a year, and it seems as if city planners have taken full advantage of this. The Mile High City has more 85 miles of bike paths and more than 200 parks. The park system has over 20,000 acres open to public use and 26 “formal” flower gardens. In other words, Denver loves the great outdoors.
In honor of a love for the parks (and Earth Day coming soon), a handful of TURNER team members in Denver joined forces with a Starbucks Day of Giving to pitch in and clean up Denver’s City Park, home to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in addition to multiple sports courts & fields, playgrounds, historical monuments, and two lakes.
Team members grabbed gloves, trash bags, and pickers to scour the grounds for trash. Since it was just Easter, there was a surprising amount of broken plastic eggs and candy wrappers. It was a good reminder to the team that in order to keep a park clean, we all need to do our part of pitching in and picking up.
