Things are getting deep

The 16 publishers on Snapchat's Discover page will now be able to share that content on other social platforms by "deep linking" to their pages. As a result, publishers will bring more trackable views to their content and create the chance for engagement, while Snapchat will be able to boost traffic to the app. Sounds like a win-win.

Beep Boop Brand

So there's this film premiering in a month that you may or may not have heard of called Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Let's be real: it's impossible to escape the Star Wars logo when the movie's marketing campaign includes partnerships with brands like Lucky Charms, Adidas, Kraft, Disney, Google ... and the list goes on. There are more limited edition Star Wars products than you could dream of. If you've ever wanted Lightsaber BBQ Tongs complete with sound effects, now is your time.

Your modern day scrapbook

Google rolled out a new feature that allows mobile users to search and save images into collections which they can reference later. Sounds very similar to a Pinterest board, but these collections can only be made on a mobile phone and through a Google account. Google intentionally wants users to share collections with their circles on Google+, boosting participation and a sense of social community on the platform. That's right, more cute puppy photos for all!

A mobile makeover

LinkedIn gave its mobile app a brand new face lift, and the results look a lot like Facebook. There is a central feed with articles and news from your connections or posts popular among your extended network. This is a reflection of LinkedIn's focus on being the go-to source for professional editorial content in addition to providing professional connections.
