Google vs. Twitter

Google hopes everyone is rooting for them at this year’s Super Bowl. This week, the company announced a new format to stream advertisements called real-time ads, allowing top brands to be able to push out promotions instantly – perfect for when a large event is occurring like the Oscars or Super Bowl. Currently, the top place to find real time marketing or news is Twitter. Google has high hopes this new platform will have users turning to them instead of Twitter. What team are you on?

Fees-Be-Gone

Exciting news for those who use Whatsapp, the mobile messaging app that allows you to exchange messages without a cellular provider: the company, which is rapidly approaching the billion-user mark, plans to terminate any annual subscription fees and will start to test out more business-to-consumer services. The fine print, you ask? You may see an increase in advertising on Whatsapp. Money makes the world go round, but does not stop ads from popping up.

Video Killed the Viral Facebook Post

If you are an avid Facebook user, you’ve probably noticed more and more videos in your feed. Media outlets like Elite Daily have shifted into this trend – dramatically. The site is now more likely to post a video instead of posting a typical text Facebook post, concluding that users were clicking on videos much more than text or photo posts. Watching > Reading. Welcome to the Digital Age.

Next Level Note Taking

Microsoft and Apple are still finding new ways to help professionals and creatives. This week, Microsoft upgraded their Office App to allow users to use the Apple Pencil in all of their programs. With this upgrade, you can now experience some pretty neat features like hand drawing on documents. This takes note taking to the next level! Don’t worry; if you don’t have that snazzy pencil, you can join the fun too. Just you can use your finger or a pen stylus instead.
