TURNER Ranked As One Of The Top 100 Public Relations Agencies

TURNER is excited to announce that we've been included in the prestigious PR Net 100, 2022 list. Each year, The PR Net recognizes talent, innovation and influence in the PR agency world, with judging committee of esteemed industry professionals who evaluated applications based on such criteria as service offerings, culture and DE&I initiatives. It's a great honor in the PR world—and we're thrilled to be included alongside our peers. "This extraordinary line up of agencies is an exciting and diverse group from across the US and beyond, that is moving the industry forward with intelligence, innovation and purpose," said The PR Net founder, Lisa Smith.

A Year Of Rebuilding

For TURNER, the past year was one of rebuilding for many of our travel, tourism, and luxury brands, and our team has helped clients navigate rebuilding their brands in a changed consumer marketplace. We've supported double-digit visitor growth in many destinations, from Wisconsin to Houston. Much of that growth has been driven by pushing our clients forward on social in highly strategic fashion. By moving away from tactical execution or community management, we provide high level channel strategy, voice, content and how to connect with customers.

Telling New Stories

Seeking out new stories to tell has been a key part of our success. For example, TURNER worked extensively with Discover South Carolina to generate media awareness for Black and Gullah Geechee culture throughout the state, whose time-honored traditions and heritage have shaped the state's Lowcountry region for more than 200 years. As a result, more than 30 stories highlighting the Black/Gullah narrative in publications including Food & Wine, New Yorker, Travel Noire, Vogue, Travel + Leisure, Essence and more, showcased diversity in the state in both mainstream and niche media outlets. Our work with South Carolina has been recognized with several awards, including the HSMAI Adrian Award.

Growing Our Footprint

Now, TURNER's eye is on expansion, as we work to grow our footprint, categories and talent. In the travel and tourism space, we're building a strong domestic presence, gaining more market share in the Midwest with Visit Indiana, Visit Milwaukee and Tennessee Tourism. Internationally, we added Tourism Australia to our roster—TURNER's very first continent. Running parallel to these efforts, we have been carefully expanding into categories adjacent to our core strengths including DTC retail, partnering with brands that are launching in the U.S., with an emphasis on the kid's category and endemic outdoor growth leveraging our team's decades long expertise.

Diversifying The TURNER Team

Last but not least, talent. Further committing to remote and hybrid work has brought in phenomenal team talent that has also grown our footprint. We now have legs in Portland, OR, Austin, TX, Madison, WI and are expanding across Florida. Additionally, TURNER is committed to building a diverse team, working with a specialist recruiter and working with HBCU faculty at Howard, Central State and Morgan State universities on a learning program to connect students with our industry, facilitate career development and provide networking for future talent. We also offer Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) training, report on workforce diversity annually, have a dedicated DE&I committee that shares resources, leads book clubs. Going beyond our own team, we signed our Industry's 15% Pledge ensuring that at least 15% of media and influencers hosted by TURNER annually are Black and at least 15% of budgets are reserved for Black content creators.
