TURNER & Duluth Trading Co. Bring Axe Throwing to Brooklyn

Written by Amanda Lynch | April 18, 2017

Last week, TURNER and Duluth Trading Company hosted media for a private axe throwing lesson at Gotham Archery in Brooklyn, allowing editors to truly put the brand’s apparel and accessories to work. Duluth offers high quality, solution-based casual wear, work wear and accessories for men and women who lead a hands-on lifestyle. Axe throwing is one of the many disciplines that are inherent to the Duluth brand, and it proved to be an original experience for our media guests.  Prior to the event, editors were kitted with the Free Swingin’ Flannel and Fire Hose Work Pants, as well as the Longtail T or No Yank Tank. Media arrived at Gotham in their Duluth gear, eager to learn how to throw an axe. The private lesson included demonstrations, technique overviews, one-on-one training and a spirited competition that gave guests an opportunity to show off their new skills.

Duluth is no stranger to having fun through physical competition. As the official workwear sponsor for the  STIHL Timbersports Series, Duluth outfits the top lumberjack athletes in the country. These athletes then show their support back by putting on demonstrations at store openings across the country. Duluth’s 20 th retail space in the U.S. is set to open its doors in Rhode Island next week, part of a rapid expansion for the brand that’s taken place over the last few years.

The axe-throwing event opened media up to a new side of Duluth and painted a greater picture of the brand’s cultural elements; all while providing a unique wear testing experience for its leading product. Stay tuned for more exciting, hands-on experiences from the Duluth team!
