The Ultimate Re-Brand
Companies often go through arduous re-branding processes, in an attempt to transform audience perceptions.
But can you re-brand an entire country? The New York Times says yes. Rwanda, Colombia and Croatia are the shining examples. Tariro Mzezewa writes: “Through a combination of marketing, social media and development — and with the fading associations of discord that come with the passage of time — these three countries are now booming tourist destinations, topping travel rankings, bucket lists and flooding Instagram feeds.” Find out how to replicate their success.
Traveling With Confidence
Travel advisors say that American consumers are optimistic about their travel plans for 2020.
According to the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA)’s “How America Travels” study, travelers anticipate spending $6,772 on travel in 2020, a 10 percent increase over the past 12 months. “You wouldn’t know that there is talk of a recession when talking to travel advisors, half of whom think their business is going to be better next year than it is this year,” writes Janeen Christoff.
10 Best Travel Products
Travelers in 2020 are going to travel with confidence – especially if they’ve picked up a few of
Gear Patrol’s 10 best travel products. “This year, Airstream and AeroPress downsized crowd-favorite products for portability, Fujifilm made a relevant travel camera in the smartphone era (no easy feat) and Seiko’s GPS smartwatch took the pain out of tracking time zones,” write the editors. “When products are well-designed and their features are intuitive, you’re primed to concentrate on the journey ahead.”
Stress Free Holidays
Some of Gear Patrol’s best travel products will reduce stress during the most wonderful (and stressful) time of the year. But you’re going to need more than gadgets to ensure smooth holiday travel.
Forbes has collected holiday travel advice from 15 travel writers. One thing they agree upon: pack light! “I never check in a suitcase,” says Thrillist’s Leila Najafi. “It's the cardinal sin of traveling in my book. Time is your currency when you're traveling, so you want to be as efficient as possible.”
