How To Host Virtual Events
Suddenly, knowing how to get people together online has become a necessary skill. Have no fear – Google is here to help you find your footing. They’ve put together a downloadable guide you can use for making videos and hosting events on YouTube, complete with links to many more resources and video tutorials. It’s a “playbook aims to help you successfully produce best-in-class digital events utilizing YouTube’s products, like Live and Premieres.” You’ll be wearing out your webcam in no time!
And speaking of virtual events – is live music dead? Definitely not. All kinds of musicians all over the globe are livestreaming, giving you a front row seat to some great performances. NPR is keeping a running tab of upcoming virtual concerts – definitely worth bookmarking. According to NPR, “some will require registration or a subscription, but most will be free, often with digital tip jars and opportunities to directly support artists by buying music and merchandise.”
Video Chat Dress Code
Many of us are adjusting to the work-from-home life. But just because we’re all out of office doesn’t mean our style needs to go out the window. The Wall Street Journal writes: “What looks good waist up on Zoom but doesn’t broadcast that you’re trying very hard? (And what if, God forbid, you have to stand up and you’re wearing pajama pants, or, even worse, boxers?)” Click through to get some tips on the best video chat dress code dos and don’ts.
On Demand Movies
Like concerts, movie theaters are no-go zones for the time being. But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch first-run flicks from the comfort of your own home. Buzzfeed has rounded up the new movies being released on-demand – including Emma, The Invisible Man, The Quarry and more. Personally, we’re going to skip Sonic The Hedgehog, but hey, you do you!
