It’s safe to say that Instagram has changed the way we travel – the ability for amateur shutterbugs to take spectacular photos while on vacation is now taken for granted. But there’s always room for improvement. Enter the Instagram butler. According to The Independent, a resort in the Maldives has begin offering its guests the services of a staff member who can show you the “the resort’s most photogenic spots, guiding them around ‘Instagram Trails’ on itineraries that feature the top places to snap Insta-worthy images.” But can these butlers make your hair look just right in a selfie? (They probably can.)
Instagram has definitely changed travel. It’s also revolutionized the fashion industry. In a fascinating Vogue article, Edwin Jiang investigates some of the key shake-ups, including an increased level of transparency about issues in the community, a greater degree of diversity and inclusiveness, and fashion shows that offer access to consumers. “What people come to expect on Instagram is not the perfect glossy life,” says Eva Chen, director of fashion partnerships at Instagram. “Because of Instagram Stories, they want to see their favorite people and the different aspects of their lives.”
Of course, Instagram isn’t just a force for change. It’s also good for totally random trends. Case in point – the oh-so-October explosion of pumpkin butts. Buzzfeed brings us this crucial news: “That's right, moms (and dads!) are painting their little tyke's tushies and sharing on social media with the hashtag #pumpkinbutt to get into the fall spirit.” Cute? Weird? A little bit of both? You be the judge. Another Insta-trend we’re keeping our eye on: chinning.
Instagram Stories have become an increasingly popular feature on the platform. Now, they’re getting a little more interactive, thanks to a new polling option that allows you to ask questions and get input from friends and followers. The Verge also reports that Instagram is also adding a cool new “eyedropper” tool, that allows you to use colors from your photos on text and brushes. It’s all part of the Instagram world.
UPS drivers have a Facebook group about dogs they meet on their routes, and it will make your day.
