Breaking Spring Break

This time of year is when everyone starts dreaming of escaping on a spring break vacation. But planning the perfect spring break getaway is not easy. It takes time and planning, reports Philly.com. “Don’t wait until the last minute," advises Molly Fergus, general manager for TripSavvy, a travel advice site. "Spring break season is one of the busiest travel times of the year, which means flights will fill up, hotels will sell out, and prices will be high in the most popular destinations. This is not the time to try to plan a last-minute trip, especially if you have your heart set on a specific place.” Deep destination research also pays off – especially if you don’t want to be overwhelmed with college-age partiers.

Styling

Once you’ve solved the problem of finding the perfect spring break destination, you’ll be faced with another problem. What should you pack? Creators.com’s Sharon Mosley has some tips on 2019 spring break style. We’re especially feeling this one: “Take time off from your normal "office" attire and breathe a little,” Mosley writes. “Lighten up in sheer mesh tunics, ruffled sundresses, floaty palazzo pants and painted T-shirts. Swipe on some turquoise nail polish. Discover unique gift shops in tropical ports and find that one-of-a-kind beaded necklace or set of handcrafted bangles.” Spring break shouldn’t just feel good – it should look good, too!

Mutual Benefits

Spring break isn’t just for kids or college students! Adults with day jobs need to refresh and rejuvenate this time of year, too. The benefits are many, reports Ladders – and you can take the things you learn back into your every day life. A spring break escape builds resiliency and helps you problem solve. ““Overcoming challenges while traveling has given me the confidence that I can handle any variety of problems that I face in the office with a level of calm and confidence,” says Emily Brockway, co-founder, and CMO of travel company Noken. Spring break travel can also boost your creativity. Stepping away from day-to-day routines stimulates the mind, giving you new approaches to old challenges.

Stranger Things

Want to really shake things up during your spring travels? This might do the trick. According to Thrillist, “TourRadar, the world's "largest online travel agency for multi-day tours," just announced that it's on the hunt for two complete strangers to go on an  action-packed excursion to five different continents over 50 days while documenting the whole thing for social media.” The itinerary hasn’t been made public yet … but the interesting part might just be how you get along with your new travel partner. Would you do it?
