Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means that fine restaurants are getting fully booked. But what if you and your sweetheart could make a reservation at a castle for the big night? No, we’re not talking about a castle of the fairy tale variety – we’re talking about White Castle. The venerable burger chain has actually been offering a Valentine’s Day dinner for 27 years, but 2018 is the first time that reservations are available through OpenTable.com. In case you’re not convinced, Food & Wine notes that this isn’t just an average night out at White Castle: “the Valentine's Day dinner includes hostess seating, tableside service and a limited-time Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Smoothie.”
OK, maybe White Castle won’t cut it for your Valentine’s Day. Travel + Leisure has you covered with a roundup of Airbnb’s most popular starry-eyed destinations you should consider traveling to this year for a romantic getaway. There are obvious spots – Paris, NYC, London – as well as some less obvious options: Costa de la Luz, Spain, Salvador, Brazil and Barranquilla, Colombia. Wherever you end up, it’s sure to be a bit more memorable than the standard flowers and chocolates …
This week, NYC’s Times Square is for lovers. Teleflora is calling on all secret admirers to go above and beyond in a big way for Valentine’s Day. If you’ve got a crush you’re dying to reveal, head to Times Square and you can declare your affection – and it’ll be broadcast for tens of thousands to see on a huge billboard. Hopefully, your crush will see it, too – but if not, you’ll be able to share your Teleflora declaration on social channels with the #LoveOutLoud hashtag.
This Valentine’s Day, all eyes are on the couple of the moment – Harry and Meghan. The soon-to-be wed pair have a busy weekend planned, according to Time. “The official royal Twitter account shared that the former Suits actor and her betrothed are scheduled for a stop in Edinburgh, Scotland on Tuesday, Feb. 13, just one day before the holiday of Hallmark romance. In picturesque Edinburgh, they’ll be enjoying some time at the historic castle and at Social Bite, a restaurant known for providing employment training and free meals to the homeless.”
