Taboola Acquisition Marries Content With Commerce
Taboola plans to blend content and commerce with the acquisition of
Perfect Market, a software company focused on ad optimization. The new
Taboola-X will use the same algorithm that made its content recommendations a success to break into the world of Ecommerce by suggesting products that make users want to click and buy.
Location-Based Marketing Tactics
Growth in online sales via mobile devices makes it increasingly important for retailers to have a mobile strategy in place. Last year, consumers spent more than $262 billion on mobile purchases, a whopping 90% more than just five years ago. Now, brands are getting more creative with advertising by tapping into location-based marketing.
AdWeek states payments, beacons and coupons were top priorities in recent campaigns.
Tumblr Shelf Life Far Exceeds Other Platforms
With greater post longevity and no restrictive algorithms to dictate audience reach, Tumblr offers brands an alternative to Facebook’s chokehold on branded content. According to
Lee Brown, Tumblr’s head of brand partnerships, one-third of all engagement on Tumblr posts comes a month after the post was published, allowing for earned engagement long after the content has expired on other platforms.
