As a top, public relations agency in Denver with a knack for travel, especially anything that gets us in the mountains and the snow, we know where to go to find the best spots for skiing and snowboarding. The PR travel team at Turner PR has compiled a list of travel tips on the best places in North America to get in on some serious powder, right now. Here are the top picks along with where to stay at each destination…
- Moonlight Basin Resort, Montana - Located approximately 45 minutes from Bozeman, Moonlight Basin is located in Big Sky and has been getting dumped on already this season. With more than 32 inches of snowfall already this winter, conditions at Moonlight Basin are setting up to be epic, and the holiday weekend clouds just dumped more than a half foot of fresh powder just in time for opening day on December 8. Even better, when combined with Big Sky Resort, located just on the other side of Lone Mountain from Moonlight, the two properties represent the ‘Biggest Skiing in America.’ Essentially, one lift ticket gets you access to both properties, which are accessible through a series of gates as well as a lift. To sweeten the deal even more, there are almost no lift lines at Moonlight Basin and most of its lodging options are ski-in/ski-out.
- Jackson Hole Resort, Jackson, Wyoming - Jackson Hole Resort hardly needs an introduction – it’s on virtually every skier and snowboarder’s list. Right now it’s “(S)November” at the resort, which is getting absolutely dumped with fresh inches of snow every day. The best spot to stay while you’re there: The Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. There’s not a better location in terms of getting first tracks from the famed Jackson Hole Tram, or for ending the day at the Mangy Moose – both are just steps from the slopeside location of the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. Bonus: You could literally trip and fall onto the slopes when exiting the property’s hot tubs, which are arguably also ski-in/ski-out. Where to find deep powder this winter
- Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia, Canada – In typical fashion, this world-renowned ski resort has already been given a smathering of snow this season by Mother Nature…More than 65 inches! Just opened last week, the conditions at this resort are prime for the taking. In what could be considered the birthplace of epic, deep-powder skiing, heli-skiing is king, and there is one resort that offers an experience that’s miles above the rest. Four Seasons Whistler’s “Ski the Dream” Experience offers guests an epic skiing adventure, draped in the luxury service of the Four Seasons brand. Whistler is world renowned for its heli-skiing and expansive backcountry terrain, and this new experience allows skiers & riders to take full advantage of all of it, while the Resort arranges everything from first-class transportation via helicopter to/from Vancouver Airport, down to a new pair of custom skies.
Now that you know where to go this winter, get out there and get down on some fluffy pow. See you on the slopes! Steph @
