Wellness 2018

Get ready: 2018 is just a few short weeks away. So what should you expect? Pinterest has a roundup of the hottest wellness trends coming our way – a whopping 100 of them. According to the editors, “yoga wheels, river cruises and derma rollers are just a few of the emerging trends people on Pinterest are excited about.” Other interesting things on the horizon: air-purifying plants; post workout practices that can be as important as the workout itself; and self-care staycations. We could use one of those!

Out of the Comfort Zone

A staycation would be great … but a nothing is better than a real vacation, of course. Places You’ll See has gathered some of next year’s travel trends. A few are tried-and-true mainstays – sustainable travel, national parks and glamping among them. But there are a few new developments emerging. The editors think “sky nannies” on airlines will become more common. Art-centric retreats will begin gain in popularity as travelers look for a creative spark. And trips that get you out of your comfort zone and immersed in an unfamiliar culture will see a big increase.

Who’s Got the Look?

PopSugar is always a good place to look for the latest trends – especially when it comes to the fickle world of fashion. The site’s 2018 forecast is derived from the streets and the runways in equal measure. Look for check prints to be the print of choice in the upcoming months. Fringe and retro-style buckle shoes are both making big comebacks. And soft shades lavender and lilac have been tipped as the colors to watch as 2018 progresses. Social Impact

Of course, one thing is certain when it comes to these aforementioned trends – social media will be the driving force behind all of them. How can you stand out in 2018? Adweek has ideas. Number one? Ephemeral content will continue to have the greatest strength – platforms like Snapchat, Instagram Stories and the like. The short-lived nature of this content keeps users tuned in and engaged. Also, Adweek predicts that customer service chat bots will be essential to brands’ online power. And AI (artificial intelligence) will provide better metrics and more accurate data for marketers to mine.
