Premier League soccer season is in full swing, and that means it’s the perfect time for fans to discover the UK’s greatest cities and stadiums. And who better to go on this epic road trip than
Jimmy Conrad. Conrad was one of Major League Soccer’s superstars — a four-time MLS Best XI and the 2005 MLS Defender of the Year, not to mention a member of the 2006
FIFA World Cup men’s national team. Jimmy wouldn’t be alone on this journey, though – he’d have his wife and two adorable kids keeping him company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_N918bV7c4 After flying into London on
Norwegian Air, Jimmy and fam were hooked up with a handy
Hertz rental – and they were off! First stop: Liverpool, where Beatlemania has never died. There are countless attractions dedicated to the Fab Four here, including the
Cavern Club, where the band paid their dues, to the Beatles Story, a huge permanent exhibition telling the entire saga of John, Paul, George and Ringo. It’s not all about The Beatles in Liverpool, though. Jimmy also paid a visit to
Liverpool F.C. Stadium, featuring a museum that explores the Liverpool Football Club’s fascinating history. Jimmy found football nirvana the next day at the
National Football Museum in Manchester. This expansive attraction is truly a fan’s dream come true, with exciting moments, unforgettable memories, legendary players, “hands-on” fun for all the family and enough objects to fill a football pitch. And of course, no visit to Manchester is complete without paying tribute to the mighty Manchester United. The perfect place to do that? The
Manchester United Museum, of course, where you can experience the club’s past glory and immerse yourself in a legend still being made. Jimmy also hosted a pickup game Mancunians at
Hotel Football in Manchester, which has a pitch on the top of the hotel where you have a great view of Old Trafford, MU’s classic stadium. The road trip wasn’t just about soccer, of course – it was also about Quidditch! The family took a tour of
Warner Bros. Studio in London, where they all got to check out the making of the
Harry Potter film series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Z_PaEenx4&feature=youtu.be The trip was capped off with – what else – a soccer game! The Conrad clan drove out to Brighton to cheer on Chelsea as they took on the home team. They learned plenty of chants, too! “That was the trip of a lifetime,” Jimmy said as they headed home.
