Insiders look at Chevy Volt's Klout Perk

Insiders look at Chevy Volt's Klout Perk
While you’ve probably heard about  Klout and their infamous Klout Perks, you probably haven't taken much time to think about the social media benefits of this platform.  Recently Chevrolet offered Klout members influential in social media, technology, and environmental topics the opportunity to  borrow 2012 Volts for three-day joy rides. And I was one of those lucky recipients. While the joy ride in a new car and all the questions I got from my friends was quite the experience, there were a few missed social media opportunities from Chevrolet. Here are three of the missed social media opportunities that I saw in the Chevrolet Volt Klout Perk. 1. Didn't share hashtag. In the outreach email from the car loan service there was no communication about the Twitter hashtag to use on my social media channels. This was a great opportunity to connect with the consumer and remind them again to share it on social media channels. 2. I Don't know everything. During my three-day joy ride I got endless questions about my fancy red Chevy Volt and while some of them I could answer there were many, many more that I couldn't answer. It would have been a great resource to have a one-sheet of the car specs that I could have kept on hand. 3. No follow up. After the three days of cruising around the Denver metro area I was sad to see it go. But the biggest miss was that I never received a follow up email from the car loan service or Chevrolet to remind me to share my experience on social media channels. While Chevrolet did have some misses in this recent Klout perk, I wouldn't give back the awesome three-day joy ride I had.
