The East Coast may be experiencing Pope-mania right now, but out here in Denver, it’s all about the beer. That’s right: the annual brew blowout known as
The Great American Beer Festival (the so-called Super Bowl of Beer) has returned to the Mile High City for a weekend full of the finest craft beer in these United States. Each year, GABF is the largest collection of U.S. beer ever served, and in 2015 attendees will be able to sample more than 3,500 different beers from over 700 of the nation’s best breweries. That is a whole lotta beer.
We like to think of ourselves as craft brew aficionados here at TURNER – how many offices do you know with a kegerator stocked with
Great Divide beer, after all? So in honor of GABF 2015, the Denver office had a little blind taste test to see which of us was the beeriest of all. Nine unlabeled brews were assembled, nine unlabeled beers were sampled. In the end, graphic designer Jessica Stollberg emerged victorious, correctly identifying eight out of nine beers. Jess then revealed her status as a “
supertaster,” so she might have had an unfair advantage though. We’ll have to wait for the judges to rule on that one … Want to experience a little beer nirvana without heading to GABF?
TURNER’s Whitt Kelly has some tips.
