Written by Ashley Cothran | April 9, 2014
A trip to Vail in the summertime is the ultimate family vacation. Cordillera is a 7,000-acre destination within the Valley, which offers an alternative way for travelers to experience the classic spot. Ideal for families who enjoy spending the days outside as well as quality downtime in the evenings; Cordillera provides all the luxuries of home in a variety of real estate rentals, along with all the conveniences and amenities of a resort. When it comes to outdoor activities, Cordillera provides endless over-the-top experiences available exclusively to guests, such as Bearcat Stables, which offers everything from horseback and carriage rides to family-style cookouts. The property also affords guests access to a private stretch of Eagle River, complete with a two-day fly-fishing school. For parents looking for some free time, the destination offers two educational and active programs for kids:
  • Cordy Camp is a summer day program for guests ages 5-12 that turns the Trailhead Family Facility into a Children’s Clubhouse for the season, complete with teepees, tennis, swimming and plenty of pool time.
  • New this summer, Cordillera will introduce the Vail Valley Junior Golf Academy on the Short Course. The elite junior camps will be available various times throughout the summer, and is available for kids ages 7-14. Throughout the program, kids will have the opportunity to work with PGA professionals to master the fundamentals and develop new skills.
