Blended? On the rocks? Straight up? Salt on the rim? However you prefer your margarita, we can all agree that if any cocktail deserves its own holiday, it’s this
muy bien mix of tequila, triple sec and lime or lemon juice. So get ready –
National Margarita Day arrives on February 22. To help you prepare, here are some choice places and ways to celebrate. We’re thirsty already.

Go south of the border for authentic and innovative margaritas!
Habanera Margarita – The signature cocktail at
Vidanta’s highly acclaimed Riviera Maya
Nektar restaurant, the Habanera Margarita features natural ingredients indigenous topped with a habanera garnish and coated with a spicy salt rim.
Barcelo Maya Lime Margarita – A classic margarita with ancient roots. The agave plant, the main ingredient in tequila, is legendary among Mayan people for its medicinal properties – so what better way to cure the winter blues (and common cold!) than with a classic Barcelo Maya Lime Margarita from

Brisa Fresca Margarita –
Zacatecas Tacos + Tequila in Albuquerque’s Nob Hill may have a popular make-your-own margarita station, but nothing beats their signature
Brisa Fresca Margarita. It combines Don Julio Blanco tequila with pear and agave nectar for a refreshing cocktail.
Tamaya Marg de Miel –
Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa serves this lavender honey margarita as a
welcome cocktail to guests upon arrival. The honey used in this cocktail is sourced from the hotel’s on-site beehive, paired with the lavender creating a very nice herbal flavor. Sweet!
Blackberry Snow Cone Margarita (Austin, TX) – Stella San Jac, one of Austin’s newest restaurants located the
Westin Austin Downtown, recognizes that margaritas are to be enjoyed year-round. The restaurant’s winter version of the margarita, The
Blackberry Snow Cone (pictured above), combines Avion Tequila, Mezcal, blackberry, citrus and thyme for an adult version of the treat for its weekend brunch menu.
In the Mountains – Park City, Utah
High altitude libations
Spiced Apple Margarita (Park City, UT)- Who says margaritas have to be enjoyed on the beach?
Waldorf Astoria Park City created a margarita with apples and jalapeños, a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Enjoy their signature
