Celebrating July 4th in Four US Cities ???

Whether you’re from Manhattan’s Upper East Side or the rural areas of Marfa, Texas, everyone in the United States can get on board with Fourth of July weekend. If you haven’t been cordially invited to a nearby barbecue, there is hope for you yet. In celebration of our Independence, here are four events throughout the states, beyond craning your neck for fireworks, where you can really get your ‘Merica on.

New York, New York

Set in the historic and whimsy corner of Surf and Stillwell, Coney Island is the place to be on America’s birthday. Riding the rides, seeing the sideshows, and having a quick dog with some buddies will leave you with some seriously Instagram-worthy photos. Most importantly, don’t miss the world famous Nathan’s 2016 Hotdog Eating Contest held annually at Nathan’s first location, which opened its doors 100 years ago in 1916. Last year’s victor, Matt Stonie, ate 62 Hotdogs in 10:00 minutes. Impressive… and a little gross.
