The Best 2020 Valentine’s Day Getaways

It’s not too late for couples to escape for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day vacation this year. From the wintry Rocky Mountains to sunny Vero Beach, there are an array of options for a spontaneous (and very romantic) getaway. Even better, there are some incredible packages to take advantage of this winter.

Snowmass Village, Colorado

The Destination: Just outside of Aspen, the snowcapped mountains of Snowmass Village attract skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. But this is an extremely romantic destination for non-skiers alike; featuring incredible restaurants and other outdoor activities like wildlife viewing.

Where To Stay:  Viceroy Snowmass is offering a Valentine’s Day “Omakase” Exploration package in 2020. Omakase (a Japanese phrase that means “I’ll leave it up to you”) is an experience that allows hotel guests to sit back and relax as the concierge plans an entire trip customized to fit the ultimate adventurers. Guests agree to let the experts at Viceroy Snowmass take the reins of their entire stay, from adventurous culinary experiences to outdoor thrills – until they say the word. The Valentine’s Day Omakase Exploration at Viceroy Snowmass includes activities such as a snowcat ride along Snowmass mountain, guided snowshoe hike through Viceroy Snowmass’ neighboring Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness, where couples will adventure through rows of snowy aspens and discover hidden alpine lakes, a private guide to take couples on a cross-country skiing excursion, wine tastings from rare Argentinian and Spanish wines at Viceroy Snowmass’ onsite Pan Latin-inspired restaurant & bar, TORO Kitchen & Lounge, hot air balloon rides, and so much more.

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

The Destination:  A true winter wonderland, Lake Geneva visitors can enjoy snow sports at The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva, including snowboarding, sledding, ice-skating and skiing. The Mountain Top, one of the best ski hills in Lake Geneva, is great for all levels of shredders. Not-to-miss restaurants include the cozy  Sopra Bistro for bold Italian-American fine dining fare, located in downtown Geneva and  Oakfire. Oakfire, known for their Swedish and Midwest-influenced cuisine, is a more casual atmosphere located on the Lake Geneva lakefront.

Where To Stay: Situated on 1,300 acres in the woodlands of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, the award-winning  Grand Geneva Resort & Spa offers the Written In Snow Package, a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day trip for those who want to take their relationship to great heights with grand gestures. Couples’ initials (or preferred gesture) are written  in the snow on the resort’s very own heart-shaped pond by the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa staff. They then are taken via helicopter over the wintery Wisconsin countryside to the surprise view of the heart and their message. Guests who book the Written in Snow package also receive a keepsake photo of the heart-shaped gesture, a private winter photoshoot on the beautiful Grand Geneva winter grounds, a five-course dinner prepared by the resort’s award-winning culinary team, plus breakfast in bed and an overnight stay in the resort’s Grand Suite.

Beaver Creek, Colorado

The Destination: Located in the heart Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Beaver Creek is world renowned for its corduroy slopes and luxurious atmosphere. A wintry escape here balances outdoor adventure with pure indulgence.

Where To Stay:  Park Hyatt Beaver Creek‘s elegant, yet warm, atmosphere creates a perfect backdrop for a winter season romantic excursion. Make it a Hallmark movie-style memory with a couples massage at the resort’s full-service spa and a soak in one of the resort’s five outdoor hot tubs, with bubbles in hand, as the sun sets over the Rocky Mountains. To sweeten the experience, World of Hyatt members can enjoy 30 percent off on Park Hyatt Beaver Creek’s cabin-style suites with the “ Seize the Stay” deal over Valentine’s Day Weekend.

Estes Park, Colorado

The Destination: Imagine sitting nestled up next to the fire with views of snow falling outside atop of stunning mountain peaks with the possibility of seeing wildlife just outside the door.  Estes Park is as romantic as it gets when it comes to romance in the Rockies with its quaint downtown and stunning scenery. Estes is cozy, secluded and serene with an abundance of adventure such as backcountry skiing and snowboarding in Rocky Mountain National Park, ice climbing and more.

Where To Stay: For a luxurious escape, couples can stay at  Della Terra Mountain Chateau. For the history buffs, the iconic 110-year old  Stanley Hotel is the place to stay. For a more secluded situation, they can check out  YMCA of the Rockies’s rustic cabins.

Vero Beach, Florida

The Destination:  While some couples may venture to Miami for the beaches and parties, those looking for a little bit of a quieter beach escape can head to  Vero Beach, just 2.5 hours north of Miami. From live music shows to delicious local restaurants, water adventures and over 26 miles of pristine beaches, Vero Beach offers a romantic vacation full of relaxation and quality time with your loved one.

Where To Stay:  Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, a boutique property sitting right on the water, offers unmatched outdoor amenities (including standup paddleboards, kayaks, bikes for a ride around town and beautiful outdoor pool), culinary delights and more.
