On March 15, 1997 Christine Turner started Turner PR in her basement, Denver, CO. Over the years, Turner PR has expanded from a basement venture to a PR powerhouse with offices in Denver and New York. Even as Turner PR rings in our 15th anniversary, one thing has stayed the same: we embody the passion of the clients that we represent. In honor of this momentous occasion, we are commemorating some of the most impressive projects, events and people that have made Tuner PR what it is today. To wet your whistle, below are some of our favorite milestones.
March 15, 1997: Christine Turner starts Turner PR in her basement, Denver, CO; company breaks into footwear and hotel industries
September 1, 1997: Turner PR opens first office in Denver, CO January 2004: Turner PR specializes in building two divisions: 1) travel, tourism and real estate and 2) active lifestyle, outdoor and fashion brands
2005: Turner PR launches Simply Give, a campaign to inspire giving.
2005: Turner PR recognized as one of Denver Business Journal’s Best Places to Work
September 15, 2005: Turner PR opens second office in New York, NY
September 8, 2006: Our karaoke team has their first "gig" at Sing Sing in NYC. Really.
January 2008: Turner PR debuts its clients at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Nobody left with a celebrity boyfriend or girlfriend, but we have dressed some of Hollywood’s most prominent and eclectic stars in client gear, from Snoop Dog to Jeremy Piven.
October 2008: Turner PR launches digital communications / social media division
December 2008: Oliver “Ollie” Berardino becomes the first member of the Turner PR K-9 Unit which now houses a rotation of five pups on any given day (don’t tell our building management)
June 2010: Turner PR moves its New York headquarters leading to regular elevator rides, building firedrills and fist bumps with penthouse co-tenant, 50 Cent.
September 9, 2011: Company-wide Hip Hop Friday also becomes a weekly tradition. And yes, we can teach you how to Dougie.
